Considering there are only five players out on the court for a team, a superstar or two can have a big impact on the outcome of the game. This is why, we see teams try to have as many of them as possible, even if the fit doesn’t seem to be great for whatever reason.

Still, there are a few teams who haven’t quite gone for this approach yet, as they are happy to let their lone superstar carry the load. It leads to some of the absurd stat lines that we have seen this season but at the same time, it is a heavy burden for the player to shoulder. Legion Hoops asked the question on Twitter about which player’s back hurts the most from carrying their team and here’s who NBA fans went for.

“luka’s gonna need back surgery by the time his time with the mavs is over”

“any answer not luka is wrong”

“Giannis Antetokounmpo for carrying the Milwaukee Bucks franchise on his back”

“Jalen Brunson carrying the Knicks right now”

“Steph n Luka “

“Embiid”

“Blazers GOAT Damian Lillard”

“Mavs are 0-4 when Luka doesn’t play. Mavs are 4th in the West when Luka plays.”

“LeBron for the past 20 years.”

“Honestly it’s Donovan Mitchell”

“Devin Booker. Look at the Suns without him”

“Giannis, todays game proves it. Can’t generate anything offensively without him.”

“Pascal carrying the raptors”

“Luka but Joel Embiid gets an Honorable mention”

“Definitely dame dolla feeling for the guy”

“Dame carrying the blazers his whole tenure with them”

“Anthony Edwards lol without him they’d be as bad as the Thunder”

“Devin Booker and Luka every other answer is wrong”

“LeBron when AD is out, AD when Bron is out”

“Luka & Giannis currently”

Luka Doncic seems to be the most popular choice but this isn’t an area where you’d want to come out on top. Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard were two other names that popped up often and all three of them have really put in some herculean performances this season.

Charles Barkley Says The Mavericks Aren’t A Good Team, They Just Have Luka Doncic

Doncic’s incredible play has seen the spotlight fall on him and the Dallas Mavericks. While everyone has marveled at Luka’s dominance, they have also rightly pointed out that the front office hasn’t done a great job of surrounding him with talent.

Charles Barkley stated that the Mavs aren’t a good team and that they just have Luka and he is probably right. We have seen it happen over and over again in NBA history that one great player alone won’t win a championship and even Luka, for all his greatness, can’t do it. It is why Mavericks fans want the team to get him some help but it remains to be seen if the front office is willing to make a big splash.
