Luka Doncic may be one of the stars of this season, but the Dallas Mavericks star as the best clutch player in the league is still a topic of debate.
Doncic has been on a tear this season averaging 34.3 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists. The Slovenian has been at the forefront of the Mavericks’ offense, leading them to a 24-19 record that puts them in fifth place in the Western Conference standings.
That said, not all fans were in agreement that the 23-year-old has been a clutch performer, despite his brilliance. The question of whether he was a crunch-time killer sparked a debate on Twitter, and while some felt was one, a majority of fans had other names in mind.

Doncic as clutch comes in after his heroics helped the Mavericks pip the Lakers in double overtime on Thursday. The guard had 35 points, 14 rebounds, and 13 assists that included draining a step-back three after the Lakers took a 101-98 lead with 11.8 seconds left in regulation.
Luka Doncic Has A Fan In LeBron James
It takes something pretty special to earn LeBron James’ attention and Doncic’s skillset had the 38-year-old Lakers superstar lavish praise on him.
The Lakers vs. Mavericks clash was all about James vs. Doncic, and despite the game being marred by some questionable refereeing, the fans got what they wanted. Both superstars treated their fans to some solid play and after the young gun outplayed the veteran, James revealed what he loved about Doncic.
“His size. I mean he’s gigantic. A 6-8 point guard. He’s 225 pounds. He has the ball on a string. And more importantly, his vision.”

While the Mavericks’ front office looks to pair Doncic with another star before the trade deadline, the team will be banking on him to help cement a top position when they square off against the Portland Trail Blazers in a back-to-back contest.
