The first week of the year was certainly good for the Los Angeles Lakers. They added were improving behind strong performances from LeBron James. But over the last two games, the Lakers have fallen back to their old pattern of losing close games.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ most recent defeat came against the Dallas Mavericks in a double-OT thriller. It could have gone either way, but the Mavericks won the game behind an insane performance from Luka Doncic.

On the other hand, it was another stellar performance from LeBron James, apart from his shooting struggles during clutch situations. There were many reasons behind the Lakers’ defeat, but the end result remains that the Purple and Gold have now fallen to a record of 19-23.

LeBron James Is Unhappy With The Lakers’ Defeat Against The Mavericks

Following the defeat against the Mavericks, the Lakers are now on a 2-game losing streak, and it is certainly frustrating for the fans to watch the team lose. LeBron James, the leader of the team, is certainly unhappy with the team’s performance as well.

In the postgame conference, James subtly took a shot at the coaching schemes of Darvin Ham. As James claimed, the only consistent thing about the Lakers this season is having a billion different lineups.

Reporter: LeBron, this team has been uneven, I would say, like in crunch-time situations. Have you seen any throughlines? You know, I mean, like similar to the Boston game you guys fight back to put yourself in a position to win. Same tonight, it’s happened a couple of times. So what are you seeing kind of late in your guys execution?

James: The one consistent thing that we have is a billion different lineups. That’s the most consistent. Do you get what I’m saying?

James was certainly not in a good mood after losing the game against the Mavericks. Now, the Lakers are also dealing with a few injury issues that have forced coach Ham to make changes in the lineups more often than needed. But even without that, the Lakers cannot seem to find similar lineups in each game, and that has certainly cost them dearly this season.
