LeBron James’ stint with the Los Angeles Lakers has been full of ups and downs. He helped the franchise win an NBA Championship alongside Anthony Davis in 2020, but since then, the Lakers have been consistently spiraling downwards. In the 2021-22 NBA season, the Lakers couldn’t even qualify for the postseason.
But many expected the Los Angeles Lakers front office to take steps towards the betterment of the team this season. Unfortunately, the front office hasn’t done a good job so far this season. The result? LeBron James is certainly frustrated with the team.
LeBron made some controversial comments about the team’s front office and what they should be doing. Initially, LeBron’s comments were perceived as wrong, and many thought he threw his teammates under the bus, but James was quick to clarify his comments.
Draymond Green Comes In Support Of LeBron James
The last few days have been really confusing for Lakers fans. Many reports have claimed that LeBron James will demand to be traded from the team this summer. On the other hand, there have been rumors about LeBron potentially wanting to end his career with the Lakers.
Coming back to James’ controversial comments about his Lakers teammates, Draymond Green recently defended LeBron in the new episode of his podcast. Green believes James was misunderstood and didn’t deserve the backlash he received from fans.

“I saw a lot of people start talking immediately about essentially LeBron throwing his teammates under the bus. And I did not take that away from that comment. What I took away from that comment was and LeBron went on to clarify on Twitter that his focus is on the guys in the locker room. What I took away from that comment, even before Bron went and clarified what he meant was, trade those draft picks because the draft picks does not help him, and it doesn’t help that current team. That’s what I took away from it.”
The Lakers have been protecting their two future first-round draft picks for several months now. Many experts believe if the Lakers agree to use those draft picks in a potential trade package, it could help them in creating a roster that can compete for an NBA Championship right now. After all, with LeBron James turning 38 years old recently, their championship window with him is closing fast.
