The Brooklyn Nets have certainly overcome their bumpy start to the 2022-23 NBA season. After struggling to win games in the first few weeks of the season, the Nets have done a great job of bouncing back.
So much so that the Brooklyn Nets currently hold the second seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 27-14. The primary reason behind the success of the Nets this season has been the insane performances of Kevin Durant.
Unfortunately, Durant is currently sidelined due to a knee injury that he suffered against the Miami Heat. As a result, the Nets need to be very careful about how they proceed in the coming weeks, and with the NBA Trade Deadline approaching, they could certainly use some upgrades to the roster.
Adrian Wojnarowski Says The Brooklyn Nets Will Be Buyers Ahead Of The NBA Trade Deadline
With the absence of Kevin Durant from the roster, the Nets are left with a huge hole to fill in the frontcourt. Keeping that in mind, veteran NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski provided key details about the Nets’ plans over the next few weeks.

“Brooklyn, like a lot of other contenders out there in both conferences, see a marketplace right now that is much more of a sellers than a buyers’ market. Just not enough teams have really made the decision that they are going to be sellers. That usually happens closer to that February 9th deadline. I think Brooklyn is going to be active. I think they’re going to upgrade particularly in the frontcourt.
But what the Nets get to do now is evaluate their roster without Kevin Durant, who has been such a dominant force for them. You mentioned Kyrie Irving. Certainly, him leading the way now with this team. T.J. Warren was brought in to be able to be a really productive offensive player. He gets that opportunity now. Seth Curry and Joe Harris. So now, Brooklyn has some time to see how these players play to see before they have to make some decisions.”
According to Wojnarowski’s comments, it certainly feels like the Nets will be super active around the NBA Trade Deadline. But will they be able to maintain their current form in the absence of Kevin Durant? Only time will tell us.
