Recently, however, the Grizzlies have taken a bit of a step back. Despite the return of Desmond Bane, and some bold comments from star point guard Ja Morant, they have fallen to 3rd in the standings with a 20-13 record.

After making the Western Conference Semi-Finals last season, many picked the Grizz to come out of the West this year. On paper, they could certainly pull it off, but it won’t be easy in the deep Western Conference.
At the very least, the Grizzlies should wait to start talking until after they’ve done something noteworthy.
“Is it a rivalry? No way. Absolutely not,” Green said on the first episode of “Unfiltered with Complex Sports,” which was released Thursday. “You know what that reminds me of? Only time will tell if the Grizzlies are for real, but they don’t seem to have any doubt about it. With Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and a solid supporting cast around them, the Grizzlies believe they have enough to go all the way.
Now all that’s left to do is finish the job and prove the haters wrong once and for all.
