Apart from last season, Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks have struggled to be serious contenders in the Western Conference. The Slovenian guard is an incredible player who has shown he can lead this team to win, but without the right help, things get very difficult for him.

Following a magical 2021-22 NBA season where they reached the Western Conference Finals and were eliminated by the eventual champions Golden State Warriors in five games, many people thought they would come back this season and be even better.

Jalen Brunson left, and the Mavs didn’t add somebody that could make a real impact on the team, leaving Luka on his own, even though some of his teammates, like Christian Wood or Tim Hardaway Jr. step up every now and then to help the Slovenian.

Luka Doncic Stars In Tense Incident With Mavericks Teammate And Mark Cuban

Many fans have criticized the Mavericks for not bringing help for Luka, and the player has never complained about it, but with the recent results and the way Luka has acted when his teammates make mistakes, it’s starting to look like he wants to see some changes happening.

More recently, Luka was recorded in a curious situation, refusing to shake Dwight Powell’s hand and seemingly giving the death stare to the team’s owner Mark Cuban, who was sitting courtside when Luka spotted him.

NBA fans reacted to this, claiming that Luka is tired of the situation happening in Dallas, with some even comparing him to the LeBron James of the 2000s, who had to do all the work by himself to make the Cleveland Cavaliers a competitive team.

Listen, I like Luka and yes he be carrying tf out of his team but he gets away with a lot of stuff in the media. Let this same video happen to Ja, Dame, or Embiid and it would be 24hour news coverage but because it’s Luka we just gonna ignore it

I’d leave him hanging too, Tristan Thompson level bad

One hopes that Luka and the Mavs can figure things out and come up with a resolution to this. They looked really great last season and even took out the No. 1 seed in the West. Now, things look completely different, and it will take more than just Luka to make this team a championship-caliber squad.
