The 2022-23 NBA season is in its full flow, and we have seen plenty of games to get an idea about the top teams and players in the league right now. Although most of the regular season is yet to be played, the early favorites in this season have already been determined.

Keeping that in mind, The Ringer recently shared its list of the top 100 NBA players in the league as of December 14, 2022. Here are the top 20 players on the said list.

Via The Ringer:

1. Giannis Antetokounmpo
2. Stephen Curry
3. Nikola Jokic
4. Luka Doncic
5. Kevin Durant
6. Jayson Tatum
7. Joel Embiid
8. Anthony Davis
9. LeBron James
10. Ja Morant
11. Devin Booker
12. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
13. Paul George
14. Pascal Siakam
15. Zion Williamson
16. Jimmy Butler
17. Donovan Mitchell
18. Damian Lillard
19. Trae Young
20. Jaylen Brown

According to The Ringer, as of now, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the best player in the NBA. Considering the Milwaukee Bucks have the second-best record in the NBA and Giannis is their best player, it’s no surprise to see the Greek Freak top the list. But the same cannot be said for some of the other names on the list.

NBA Fans Roast The Ringer’s Top 20 Players Rankings

Whenever a renowned website releases its take on the current rankings of NBA players, it is usually met with mixed reactions. But in the case of this one, it seems like fans almost unanimously disliked several aspects of the list. To get a better idea, here’s how fans reacted to it on Twitter.

Tatum is number 1.

Tatum outside the top 5 is insane

how is Luka a better player than Tatum when Luka doesn’t play defense???

— Nuby (@MVPnuby) December 14, 2022

Jaylen Brown should be higher. In what world is Siakim better than him? Replace. Booker isn't better than JB, either. LOL.

Jaylen right now clears Trae, Dame, Jimmy, Siakam, PG13, Shai, and Booker. This list is trash

Many fans were surprised after seeing Jayson Tatum outside the top 5 on the list. Even Tatum himself unveiled that he feels like the best player in the world after leading the Boston Celtics to a stunning victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

While he may not be the best player in the league, he is still one of the best. So much so that there is a genuine debate about the Celtics superstar playing at an MVP level. At the end of the day, this was The Ringer’s take on the top 20 players in the league right now. There are certainly some changes required to make it better.
