Myles Turner has been one of the best defensive big men in the league for the last few years. He is well-known for his shot-blocking ability, and offensively he is a sharpshooter. Currently, Myles Turner is averaging 17.6 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 2.3 BPG while also shooting 43.2% from the 3PT range.

There is no doubt that Myles Turner has frequently been mentioned in trade rumors leading up to this year’s trade deadline. He is clearly a highly coveted player in league circles. A recent report from Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report suggested that the Indiana Pacers might end up re-signing him but added that teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Golden State Warriors are interested in adding him if that does not happen.

The team had previously shopped Myles Turner for multiple deadlines, but when they landed Tyrese Haliburton from the Kings, they needed to give up Domantas Sabonis.

That may lead to a recommitment to Turner, who will be a free agent this summer. Still, plenty of teams have interest if the Pacers change course, including the Lakers, Clippers and Warriors.

The Los Angeles Lakers, in particular, have been a team that has long been interested in Myles Turner. It is easy to see why: he would make an elite twin-towers defensive tandem with Anthony Davis, and playing with an elite playmaker like LeBron James would be similar to playing next to Tyrese Haliburton. It remains to be seen if the Pacers will end up moving Turner, but it is clear that they have a number of different teams interested if they were to move him.

Myles Turner Previously Said The Lakers Should Trade For Him

At the end of October, Myles Turner stated that the Los Angeles Lakers should trade for him along with teammate Buddy Hield. Though that trade has not happened yet, it could definitely be a good option for the team.

“That’s such an intriguing question at that. I think personally, when you look at the business of the league, know the landscape of the league, you have to look out for your future right? And we all know picks are so valuable in this league. And someone like myself, I’m heading into the last year of my deal, and you wanna make sure that you’re getting a return for your assets.

“So if I’m the Lakers, I’d take a very hard look at this. I know what I can provide for a team, my leadership, my shot-blocking, my three-point ability, and just my ability to make plays out there on the floor. And I’d take a very long look at it. But as far as pulling the trigger, I get paid to shoot, not to make these calls. So I couldn’t answer that.”

As of right now, the Los Angeles Lakers have other trade proposals on the table other than their original trade with Indiana Pacers. They have recently been linked with Zach LaVine, and the team is likely exploring every option that can help them improve.

Myles Turner is an appealing addition to both modern teams, and he could definitely anchor a high-level defense on a contender. However, the Pacers could easily elect to keep him due to his performances, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
