Trae Young is one of the most chill players in the entire NBA, his personality off the court seems to be very relaxed and fun. The Atlanta Hawks star is a livewire on the court, scoring and assisting at incredible levels, and he’s already led the team to an Eastern Conference Finals in his career. But one of the reasons Trae is sometimes ranked below some of the other great young players is because of his slight frame.

Young is listed as being just over 6 feet tall, which is quite short in NBA terms. Considering that the average height in the NBA is closer to 6’7″, it puts into perspective how small Young is compared to his peers. And while this doesn’t stop him from being elite offensively, it is a bit of a sore spot for the All-Star.

He recently shared a funny video of himself next to a supposedly life-sized cardboard cutout of his. Young is taller than the cutout, and he made it a point to highlight that in the video.

“Oh my gosh, this ain’t my height now. Come on, now. It’s close, though. It’s close enough, it’s alright.”

It’s clear that Young isn’t taking it too seriously, but it’s quite funny to see nonetheless. Trae Young is often mocked by Skip Bayless for his size, he calls him ‘Mice Trae’, but some of the best hoopers in the world know that his skills outweigh his size.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Praised Trae Young For His Ability Despite His Stature In 2021

Giannis Antetokounmpo knows a thing or two about basketball, he’s one of the best in the world at it, after all. And the Greek Freak had a lot of praise for Trae Young when he faced him in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021.

He is an amazing player. What he can do for his size… it’s unbelievable. What he’s done in a 3-year span is unbelievable. He’s got to keep getting better, keep believing in himself and the sky is the limit for him.”

Young is entering his 5th season in the NBA, and he’s averaged over 25 points and 9 assists per game during his career. This has also led to multiple All-Star selections for the electric guard. And while some may always use his size against him in arguments, it’s safe to say that Young himself can laugh at it and perform at an incredible level, regardless.
