Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Blasts Kyrie Irving For Posting Conspiracy Theory Video From Alex Jones On Instagram: “Kyrie Irving Would Be Dismissed As A Comical Buffoon If It Weren’t For His Influence Over Young People Who Look Up To Athletes.”

Kyrie Irving has received a lot of criticism over the course of the last season, largely due to his part-time status and refusal to get vaccinated for COVID-19 so that he could be a full-time player.

However, some of the recent noise surrounding Kyrie Irving did not focus on him being a part-time player. Kyrie Irving shared a 2002 conspiracy theory clip from Alex Jones on Instagram earlier this summer. Alex Jones is a controversial figure whose views are generally considered ridiculous by a majority of the general public.

There is a tyrannical organization calling itself the New World Order…by releasing diseases and viruses and plagues upon us, we then basically get shoved into their system

Recently, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has heavily criticized Kyrie Irving for sharing conspiracy theories on his Substack, claiming that he would be “dismissed as a comical buffoon” if he didn’t have influence over young people.

Alex Jones is one of the most despicable human beings alive and to associate with him means you share his stench.

Kyrie Irving would be dismissed as a comical buffoon if it weren’t for his influence over young people who look up to athletes. When I look at some of the athletes who have used their status to actually improve society—Colin Kaepernick, LeBron James, Muhammad Ali, Bill Russell, Billie Jean King, Arthur Ashe, and more—it becomes clear how much Irving has tarnished the reputations of all athletes who strive to be seen as more than dumb jocks.

For more of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s thoughts on Kyrie Irving, read his Substack here.

There is no doubt that these are some strong words from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Spreading misinformation is something that can affect many people negatively, and it is clear that Abdul-Jabbar is not happy with Kyrie Irving associating with Alex Jones.

Kyrie Irving Has A Chance To Show He’s An Elite Star This Season

Kyrie Irving did not receive a new contract from the Brooklyn Nets this offseason and ended up accepting his player option. Perhaps he will be able to prove that he is still a top-tier player this year and is committed to showing up to play and winning games.

Hopefully, we see Kyrie Irving have a productive season with the Brooklyn Nets and help them make a deep run in the playoffs towards the end of the year. The Brooklyn Nets have a championship-level roster on paper, and Kyrie Irving playing at a high level will be key for the team throughout the year.
