The late NBA legend Kobe Bryant knew a few things about being successful in the NBA. The Lakers legend spent 20 seasons in the league and ended up winning five NBA Championships.

Apart from that, he had a plethora of other accolades as well. Coming into the league straight from high school is never an easy way, but Kobe proved that with enough discipline and work ethic, it’s possible to find success in the league.

Another player who entered the league straight from high school was LeBron James. But the biggest difference between Kobe and LeBron’s careers was the fact that James was an amazing player right off the bat.

During the 2010s, Kobe and LBJ were arguably two of the best players in the league. Evidently, they became friends over time, and keeping that in mind, Kobe once had great advice for James in one of his books.

Kobe Bryant Wanted LeBron James To Treat Practices As Game 7s Of The NBA Finals

When it comes to honing your skill through practice, there’s hardly anyone who’d debate that Kobe wasn’t the best to do it.

So when Bryant shared a piece of advice to any player, they used to listen to him. On that note, Bryant once had epic advice for LeBron, who was already a great player but lacked the intensity to become a leader.

“Everything is a game seven. When you approach every game, every practice with that kind of mentality, it bleeds into the rest of the guys. It starts with the top.”

While this was not bad advice by any means, it’s just something that we are sure LeBron won’t be able to implement very easily. This wasn’t the first time that the Mamba advised the King.

However, James and Kobe are two very different types of leaders. While James isn’t that vocal, Bryant used to give an earful to his teammates whenever they messed up. Regardless of their techniques, they are undoubtedly two of the best players to play in the NBA over the last two decades or so.
