Team Germany Coach’s Hilarious Response To Dennis Schroder Asking For His Credit Card: “I Said ‘I’ve Been Divorced 3 Times, You’re Not Going To Like The Limit.’”

Team Germany pulled off a great win against Team Greece in the quarter-finals of the 2022 EuroBasket tournament, dominating Giannis Antetokounmpo and co. in the second half of the game, demonstrating that they’re serious candidates to win the gold medal this year.

Dennis Schroder, Franz Wagner, and more were on another level, enhancing their game and taking the German national team to the promised land, eliminating one of the biggest candidates to win the championship. Giannis Antetokounmpo tried, but he couldn’t do more against a solid team that found and created opportunities, moved the ball properly, and hit 3s like they were nothing.

Following the game, the German team and fans were ecstatic, and many wondered if their coach would be as excited as the Italian head coach was after eliminating another candidate in Serbia.

Gordon Herbert was pretty happy after pulling off this big win, and reporters wanted to know if he had any intention of giving his players his credit card so they could get something to celebrate.

Italy’s head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco revealed he gave his players his credit card so they could get something on him. In the end, they spent $700, having a nice meal and enjoying each other’s company after beating the current back-to-back NBA MVP.

“Everybody just went to dinner together with the team. It wasn’t so bad, only 700 euros or so,” Marco Spissu told the media. “For 12 people, it’s good. We just took chicken wings and water, that’s it.”

However, for Germany, things aren’t that happy. Herbert was asked if he would have the same gesture with his players, but for him, things are not that promising.

Gordon Herbert ain't going there.

"I'm not giving my credit card to the players

“I’m not giving my credit card to the players. Dennis [Schroder] wanted my credit card, I said ‘I’ve been divorced 3 times, you’re not going to like the limit’,” he said while the room laughed.

Now, Germany will try to continue their sweet moment, and things won’t be easy. They’ll face another juggernaut in Spain. They come from beating Finland in the last-8 round, and now it’s time to face the most consistent team in the competition. Dennis Schroder is inspired as he tries to get a new NBA deal as soon as possible. Franz Wagner is showing glimpses of what’s coming to the league this season, and Daniel Theis keeps dominating the paint.

Perhaps, if they win it all, Herbert won’t care and will treat his players, but we have to wait until the weekend to know.
