Fresh off their 2022 championship, the Golden State Warriors are aiming to do it again. Despite new challenges and aging stars, Golden State is still expected to be among the best teams in the league this season.
And if you’re looking for a reason why, you need to look no further than their starting lineup, which includes Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Together, the three make an almost perfect partnership, and they have already won multiple championships to prove it.
But in a chat with Kendra Andrews of ESPN, NBA legend Chris Mullin got real on the trio and shockingly pegged them as the greatest ‘big three of all time.
Chris Mullin And Tim Hardaway Agree That The Warriors’ Big Three Is One Of The Best In League History
Together, Steph, Klay, and Draymond have won four championships in a span of 8 years, dominating countless opponents along the way. In truth, their run over the past decade is truly unprecedented, and it might not even be over.
The trio sees similarities between themselves and Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson — who are almost certain to follow Hardaway, Richmond and Mullin into the Hall of Fame when their careers are done. And while the current championship Warriors play an up-tempo style reminiscent of the Run TMC era, what really links these two eras is the way each member in each trio complements one another’s talents.
“It’s one thing to like your teammate, respect your teammate, but when you have that in place and you need your teammate, that takes it to a whole other level,” Chris Mullin said. “Draymond needs Steph and Klay’s shooting. Steph and Klay need Draymond’s passing and defense. Steph needs Klay’s size to guard. When you put that all together, you have the best trio of all time.”
Former Warriors star Tim Hardaway echoed Mullin’s statement, showering the Warriors stars in praise for their achievements.
“Draymond is like me,” Hardaway said. “I’m the voice. I’m the s— starter that gets us going. Chris and Mitch are like Steph and Klay. … They just go out there and don’t say nothing. Just go out there and do the job.”
On the court, there is nothing that the Warriors’ big three cannot do. They can shoot, defend, rebound, and make plays for others at a truly exceptional level.
The only question is when this amazing dynasty will end. Despite how it may look now, Father Time is undefeated, and all three players are on the wrong side of 30.
But even if the run is nearly over, what the Warriors have accomplished will never be erased.
