LeBron James is without a doubt one of the best players in the league today. Even though he is no longer in his prime, LeBron James is still a superstar-caliber player that is producing at a high level.

This summer, we saw LeBron James sign a two-year extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. Rob Pelinka claimed that LeBron James will be a “driving force of Lakers culture for years to come” with his new deal.

“LeBron is a generational basketball player who has proven to be even more impactful as a human being,” Pelinka said. “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with him, ensuring he’s a driving force of Lakers culture for years to come. The Lakers platform has proved again and again to be an ideal place for the game’s all-time greats to thrive and achieve. We are thankful LeBron has experienced the power of that. With his transcendent talent, unrivaled passion, and dedication to causing powerful change in our society, LeBron continues to cement his legacy in Los Angeles and around the globe.”

There is no doubt that signing LeBron James to an extension was an optimal move for the Los Angeles Lakers. They will have his services for a while longer, and they could potentially win a championship with the superstar.

Former Laker Byron Scott Is Happy To See LeBron James Stay In Los Angeles

It seems as though other people related to the Los Angeles Lakers are enjoying the fact that LeBron James signed an extension with the team. It is always good when a franchise manages to retain its best player.

Recently, Byron Scott claimed that LeBron James signing a new extension means that the Lakers are going to “continue to be relevant”, and added that he’s “glad” to see LeBron James finishing his career as a Laker. Tomer Azarly of Clutch Points relayed the news.

Byron Scott made a recent appearance at the 2022 Harold and Carole Pump Foundation Gala in Los Angeles, where celebrities and sports stars gathered to bring awareness and raise funds for cancer research. First and foremost, Scott told ClutchPoints he was excited for LeBron James’ two-year, $97.1 million extension, which would likely keep James with the Lakers through the end of his career.

“It means they keep him for a couple more years,” Byron Scott told ClutchPoints. “That’s the number one thing. And they’re gonna continue to be relevant. They still need some help, obviously on the defensive end and hopefully Darvin [Ham] can get that back instilled into them and understanding that’s the most important part of the game right now, is playing defense every single night. But I’m glad LeBron’ gonna finish a Laker.”

Hopefully, we see LeBron James have a successful season with the Los Angeles Lakers next season. They have revamped their roster to be more defensive-oriented and brought in a new coach in Darvin Ham. It’s clear that the front office is trying to make sure that the team has a real chance of winning a ring.

It remains to be seen if LeBron James will be able to win a championship next year. It seems unlikely, as the Western Conference looks absolutely stacked for next season. However, if the Los Angeles Lakers do manage to get to the playoffs, they will have a chance to win.
