Patrick Beverley Blamed LeBron James And Said He Will Never Forget When Miami Heat Cut Him After King James Arrived On South Beach

Patrick Beverley is now a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, and he will be sharing the locker room with the likes of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, among others.

While most are aware of Pat Bev’s long beef with Russ, it seems like the former Jazz guard also had a short beef with none other than LeBron James. The two players first met in 2010 when LBJ made ‘The Decision’ and decided to take his talents to South Beach.

Earlier this year, Beverley shared a story about how he and James became friends due to the latter coming to Miami. Beverley even went as far as saying that James is like a big brother to him.

However, back in 2019, Beverley shared a completely different rendition of the story when he was part of the Los Angeles Clippers. He revealed he had a chip on his shoulder due to being cut out by the Heat following James’ arrival.

#Clippers’ Patrick Beverley on the chip on his shoulder – “I played with Miami, with LeBron and they cut me. I got drafted by the #Lakers, they traded me to Miami. Bron got there, they cut me. I remember it like it was yesterday, so yeah, it’s a chip on my shoulder.” pic.twitter.com/bcSwtF5En6

“I played with Miami, with LeBron and they cut me. I got drafted by the Lakers, they traded me to Miami. Bron got there, they cut me. I remember it like it was yesterday, so yeah, it’s a chip on my shoulder.”

Beverley has always been very expressive of his emotions, and we are sure that’s what he was doing in the 2019 interview.

Since the original incident took place over a decade ago, Lakers fans will hope that Beverley has gotten over it. After all, the Purple and Gold wouldn’t want one of their players to have a fight with both LeBron and Westbrook. At least, that’s what the franchise is hoping will happen.
