The Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the most dominant players in the NBA. He has come a long way and has done so by staying with the Bucks. A few years ago, he had a chance to leave the Bucks, but he signed an extension with the franchise.

In the 2021 playoffs, Giannis proved that it was the right decision by leading the Bucks to an NBA Championship. Following that amazing championship run, most thought that Giannis would wear a Bucks jersey for as long as he stayed in the NBA.

But after a recent interview, it seems like that might not be the case after all. In the video, Giannis talked about not counting out the possibility of someday playing for the Chicago Bulls in the future.

It shocked Bucks fans to its core, and they didn’t know how to react. On that note, NBA analyst Tim Legler also reacted to this news, and he revealed that he believed Giannis could be the next Stephen Curry in terms of staying with a single NBA franchise.

“In an era in which we know that it’s more likely that star players are going to move, they’re not going to stay in one franchise their entire careers, there is a short list of guys that you maybe thought would fall into that category because they’re a little bit different. I thought Giannis was in that category. I think Steph Curry, obviously.

It’s impossible for me to fathom even for a nanosecond Steph Curry in another jersey. Steph Curry’s going to be a lifetime Warrior. He ain’t playing anywhere else. I think Luka might be a guy like that. I thought Giannis was the other guy. But now, he says this and why in the world would he even entertain that?”

As Legler explained, everyone in the NBA is aware that Stephen Curry will never leave the Warriors and will spend his entire career with the franchise. Such loyalty is here in today’s NBA as players tend to give up on teams very quickly in favor of having a shot at winning NBA Championships.

In Giannis’ case, he might want to play for the Bulls when he’s close to retiring from the league. After all, it could be his lifelong wish to play for the franchise that NBA legend Michael Jordan once played for.
