In the rich history of the NBA, many players have gotten the opportunity to display their talent to the world. But among the thousands of players who have played in the league, there are only a few that are remembered as the greatest players to ever play in the NBA.

There could be various reasons for that. Maybe they played a huge role in the globalization of the league. Or they had such amazing basketball skills that the fans can simply never forget them.

But due to their greatness, such players end up being part of countless debates on the internet. One template of these debates is when NBA fans are asked to pick their starting five from six amazing superstars. This essentially means pushing one of these superstars to the bench.

A page on Instagram initiated a debate in this category with one of its recent posts. The post featured Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant.

As understood by the caption of the post, the page owner wants to know NBA fans’ opinions on which player they would push to the bench among the six NBA superstars. Well, here’s what fans thought about it:

em4hunnied: Kd going to bench.

bsgg_3timez: Easy….KD.

khionjuice: If u say Curry you gotta be a Boston,Mavs or grizzlies fan cs ain’t no way.

zengraphicz: Kobe, we already have MJ who’s the same player exact shoots less threes.

hookedupholst: Hear me out, Shaq. 5 wide all can penetrate and shoot. (No hack a shaq strategy in close games) Unstoppable offensive movement and efficiency.

pr_aaron91: Kd would want to join a better team tbh.

mini_curry_17_30: Kd gotta go because even when kd was in his prime he still wasn’t as good as any of these players.

jamgrfx: Easy to push Jordan or Kobe cause they both were SG but I’m moving KD to the bench.

tthomas914: Steph’s had more bad performances in some of the finals games than the rest so I’ll have to say Steph.

fabianvvthelin: The fact that people used to talk about who was better Michael jordan or kobe bryant. Now people say that kobe isn’t in top 10 like are you guys trippin.

big_block_a: Kd least amount of rings sense that all the matters.

15problems: Steph, I would have elite defenders everywhere and the smallest player would be 6’6.

After taking a look at the comments, it appears that the majority of fans believe Kevin Durant is the player that should be benched.

Apart from that, a few pointed out the fact that Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan are essentially the same players; they would bench Kobe in favor of MJ. Lastly, some believed that in order to improve defense, pushing Curry to the bench was a no-brainer for them.
