Klay Thompson’s redemption summer is going just as planned for the Golden State Warriors star. Thompson has seen his team be counted out for the last couple of years after people said their championship window is over because Kevin Durant left. In addition, Thompson had to come back from an ACL and Achilles tear that took 2-and-a-half years to get back from.
The 2022 NBA season ended with the Warriors hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy for the 4th time since 2015, with Klay being a big part of the squad through the second half of the season and through the playoffs. Naturally, the longtime Warrior has been celebrating this championship win every second he can get.
Thompson was in the audience for the LA Dodgers game against the San Francisco Giants, cheering on his brother, Trayce Thompson. When the camera panned to Klay, he was seen looking at a fan behind him and counting up to 4, one for each championship he had won.

The celebration in the Warriors camp has been unlike any championship we have seen before. Their inaugural championship in 2015 was criticized as the Cleveland Cavaliers were without both Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. 2017 and 2018 were wins that came with Kevin Durant, so they weren’t championship seasons in which the Warriors had to overcome adversity.
The Warriors faced a healthy opponent in the NBA Finals in Boston and weren’t a part of an overly-stacked super team. The win means a lot more, considering the media naysayers over the last few years predicting the Warriors to be behind teams like the Lakers and the Nets.
Thompson has earned the right to show off his championship ring this summer, but the work will soon begin on him adding a possible 5th ring to his name alongside the heart of this Warriors core in Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
