Zion Williamson is getting ready for the 2022/23 NBA season and has taken a different approach this offseason, playing pickup games with kids in New Orleans, trying to bring some joy to these children while showing he’s committed to making a good impact on the city he’s defended since 2019.

In recent days, Zion was spotted playing with some kids, giving them advice, and basically cheering them up. The former No. 1 overall pick looks strong and ready to face another NBA season where he’ll try to take the New Orleans Pelicans to the playoffs and improve what they did last season.

Williamson isn’t missing any time and is showing kids what’s coming to the rest of the league with his recent activities. The young forward was spotted at a local gym, playing with some kids. This time, it wasn’t all smiles for them, as Zion took it personally and started trash-talking the kids and dunking on them.

The differences between an NBA body and regular kids was huge, and Zion took advantage of that, posting them up, dominating them and finishing with big dunks.

“You! You! You!” Zion shouted while pointing at some kids. “Any of y’all think y’all can do something with me…”

He had no mercy on these kids, but it seems like it was a rewarding experience for all of them. Not every day you get to play with an NBA star and see how he does his thing firsthand. It’s very cool that Zion is taking time to have fun with local kids, showing he’s invested in New Orleans and wants to create something good there.

The 2022/23 season will be a big challenge for them, but as long as they have their franchise player on the court, they’ll always have hope.
