NBA Insider Believes The Denver Nuggets Should Try And Pair Kevin Durant And Nikola Jokic: “If I Am Denver, I’m Offering Murray, MPJ, Bones, Three Firsts, For Kevin Durant. Who Is Beating That Package?”

The Brooklyn Nets are going to have a very tough summer ahead of them. It looks like the Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant experiment is going to be over soon, even though Irving has agreed to stay another year with the Nets after rumors for the last week linking him with a shock move to the Lakers.

However, the dysfunction is still not over in Brooklyn as Irving is looking at sign-and-trade possibilities for himself to get a contract extension and be moved to a team that will be willing to pay it. If Irving leaves, the chances Durant stays are slim to none. One being moved will inevitably result in the other being moved as well.

Out of all the options for KD, if he has to be traded on the new contract he signed last season, the Denver Nuggets may be a perfect choice. The Athletic’s Tony Jones has already floated around the idea that the Nuggets should offer the Nets their young assets in Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., and Bones Hyland, along with many first-round picks.

The report can’t be executed because Murray is not eligible for trade to the Brooklyn Nets because the Nets can’t have two players on their roster that were traded on rookie extensions. Brooklyn already has Ben Simmons. In addition, the Nuggets don’t have the future pick flexibility to offer the Nets in a trade as well.

If the Nuggets want to go all-in on a championship, this would be the right move. There is flexibility to still improve the roster around this dynamic duo, which is something we haven’t seen before. KD and Jokic alongside each other would be a treat to watch for any hardcore hoops fan, considering their play styles.

The Nuggets seem to have peaked in the Western Conference and need something new to make a genuine push up the ranks and possibly compete for a title.

The 2020 bubble run for Denver is long in the past with consecutive years of playoff exits. With Murray and MPJ coming back this season, expectations will be high. With their injuries, there will be question marks around the Nuggets’ form.
