Kyrie Irving’s future with the Brooklyn Nets is very much in doubt at the moment after all that has transpired over his time with the team. It started with his comments that the team didn’t need a coach, then there was his unexplained leave of absence from the team, and lastly, of course, all the issues that came with his stance against COVID-19 vaccination.
It is then no surprise that the team is unwilling to offer him a long-term extension and that opens up a world of possibilities for what might happen next. One potential outcome is a trade and after there were reports that Nets GM Sean Marks had a meeting with Lakers GM Rob Pelinka at the NBA Combine, one fan suggested that perhaps the two teams can look into a trade to solve the problems that plague them.
Unsurprisingly, there were a lot of reactions to this potential blockbuster move, and here’s what some of them had to say:

It is unlikely that the teams do go ahead with a trade like this, but it is an interesting proposal in some ways. The Lakers have been desperate to trade Russell Westbrook and the Nets seem to be reaching a point of no return with Irving. They might just want to get something in return for Kyrie if he is on his way out and not a lot of teams would be willing to give up a significant haul, considering his recent issues.
It is a different story altogether on whether KD would want to reunite with Russ, however, but the fact of the matter is that some change is definitely needed for these two teams and they might just end up being stuck with each other in a bid to resolve their respective problems.
