Luka Doncic is a sensational basketball player, proving his worth and quality at a young age when he was playing for Real Madrid in Europe. By age 17, he already won every major accolade in the country and prepared to move over to the NBA, where he would be criticized before playing a single game for being ‘another overhyped prospect’.

Doncic fell to the third spot, where the Dallas Mavericks traded up to make sure they could draft him. Even though they moved off Trae Young for Doncic, it’s been a phenomenal move. Luka has had an instant impact on the league and his incredible track record with All-NBA teams proves it.

Luka has been one of the two best guards for the last three seasons in the NBA, being named to his third consecutive All-NBA first team this season. Considering this is just his fourth year in the league, there is a long road to success still ahead of Doncic. However, he has already surpassed legends like Dwyane Wade and Damian Lillard in terms of how many first-team selections they have received.

The list of those players represents some of the best players in the league in the past generations. Not only has Doncic kept pace with them, but he also looks set to pass them very soon as he is still just a 23-year-old. There are also evident holes in Doncic’s game that would make him even better if he could fix them.

If Doncic became a more impactful defender and had better conditioning for the season, his stock in the eyes of voters would only go up. The Mavericks have become a consistent playoff team with Doncic at the helm.

If he keeps developing at this rate, they could become a championship team again. After all, most of the names on the list have him beat with the number of championships won.
