Luka Doncic just become the first player since Tim Duncan to make three All-NBA teams in his first four seasons in the league. Everyone knows that Doncic is pegged as the next generational superstar of the NBA, and he is living up to that billing through his first few NBA seasons.

Doncic has changed the face of the Dallas Mavericks since his arrival, taking the Mavs to three consecutive playoffs and now sitting in the Western Conference Finals. His production has been historic for his age, and he is getting the plaudits that he deserves.

After the Mavs won Game 4 to extend their season against the Golden State Warriors, Doncic spoke to the media about making it to the All-NBA First Team again, to which Luka had a very humble response.

Luka Dončić on being named First Team All-NBA: “It’s a blessing. As a kid all I dreamed about was being in the NBA. It’s my third now so I’m really happy and thankful for everyone who made it happen.”

Doncic could be on the pace to keep this up for a very long time. All-NBA teams are extremely subjective from season to season, so Luka will need to maintain or improve an already historic level of production to keep himself relevant to be in this position. The greatest players make All-NBA consistently throughout their careers, and Doncic is on that path.

Luka’s impact on the game is far-reaching, as he is a stat monster. Doncic can rebound, score, and playmaker with the best in the league. Along with that, his impact on his team is indelible in terms of his performances directly leading to Dallas making deep runs into this year’s playoffs.

The sky is the limit for Doncic. A championship this season doesn’t look likely, but if he keeps improving his game and stays on this path, we may be looking at a generational all-time player. We can appreciate his rise right now because soon enough, Doncic may just become the undisputed best player in the league.
