Steph Curry Puts The Mavericks To Sleep As Golden State Rallies To Win Game 2

Halftime of Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks seemed headed toward yet another blowout. The Warriors were dominant in Game 1 and the Mavs looked set to return the favor as they led 72-58 at half-time here, but the Warriors flipped the switch in the second half.

Leading the way was Steph Curry, who finished the game with a team-high 32 points on 6-10 shooting from beyond the arc as Golden State went on to win 126-117. Curry hit just one of those threes in the fourth, but it ended up being the dagger, as it put them up 10 with just over a minute left and the former MVP made sure everyone knew it was over.

Curry scored 10 points in total in the quarter as Golden State won the second half by 23 points to take a 2-0 lead in the series. They will be full of confidence after this incredible come-from-behind victory, which was, in fact, the third-largest comeback win in the franchise’s postseason history. They will now head to Dallas, knowing that winning one of the next two games should all but end things here.

They will be wary of the fact that the Mavs found themselves in a similar situation against the Phoenix Suns, so there can be no room for complacency against this team. Dallas has shown they can get crazy hot from beyond the arc, as they did in the first half here, so the Warriors need to be on their toes so as to ensure this series doesn’t drag out. Another trip to the NBA Finals is within touching distance for the Dubs, who will be out for blood in Games 3 & 4 as they continue their search for their first title of the post-KD era.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
