Danny Green Fires Back At Patrick Beverley For His Criticism Of Chris Paul: “You Ain’t Playing No F***ing Defense Out There.”

After Patrick Beverley had a field day attacking Chris Paul following his elimination from the 2022 NBA playoffs at the hands of Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks last Sunday, everybody has had something to say about Bev’s comments and how fair or wrong they are.

Players like Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard have clapped back at Beverley for his remarks and constant criticism of other players. Even JJ Redick called him out for doubting Jayson Tatum’s abilities.

Besides these players, a 3x NBA champion jumped on this train and sent a big message to Beverley. Danny Green absolutely ripped the Minnesota Timberwolves veteran, reminding him that he’s unable to get a stop against Luka Doncic, too, so it’s time for him to know his place before taking cheap shots at Chris Paul.

On his most recent Inside the Green Room podcast (via Yahoo Sports), the former Philadelphia 76ers sharpshooter didn’t hold back and went off on Beverley (24:30):

Danny Green heard Pat Bev go off on Chris Paul, and he has some thoughts πŸ‘€πŸ˜³

“People target you too, Pat Bev. You ain’t playing no f***ing defense out there. You ain’t stopping Luka. It’s time and time again I see Luka call you a** “little man” and “he’s too f***ing small” and go right at you every chance he got. When you play Luka you’re a cone, too. How would you like that?”

When you’re talking about a Hall of Famer you can critique, but the disrespect I think was taken a little far.

“I think [Beverley] just used that platform because he has an issue with Chris, and he used it as a personal vendetta to take out a lot of his anger on the set at that moment. I thought it was unfair to Chris, and I’m sure a lot of people felt the same, a lot of guys in the league.

“[…]

“I don’t mind certain guys critiquing players, but you’re a role player – to disrespect a Hall of Famer is too far. Calling somebody a cone is disrespectful, bruh. I don’t care. Target and cone are two different words, bro. He said he can’t guard. Chris Paul is a … nine-time member on the All-NBA Defensive Team. Yeah they targeted him, but s**t there’s been times when Pat Bev’s been targeted too, are you kidding me?

“[…]

“Pat Bev, you’re not stopping Luka either. There’s not many people on the planet that are stopping Luka.”

Green, just like many people around the NBA world, didn’t appreciate the CP3 slander, even though Beverley claimed Paul deserves it. The disrespect was really big this time and it’s good to see many players standing up for Paul when he hasn’t made any comments on this yet. As Green said, this looks like a personal attack from Beverley, but so far, he’s making himself look bad, not Chris Paul.
