Michael Jordan’s Big Trash Talk To Tom Brady In 2015: “Come Back To Me When You Have 6”

Michael Jordan and Tom Brady are probably the two respective GOATs in their sports. While the sports are distinctly different, both players have a proven winning history behind them. Tom Brady is a seven-time Super Bowl champion while Michael Jordan is a 6-time NBA champion.

However, Jordan had won his sixth title before Brady had even been drafted into the NFL. In that time since, Brady has surpassed Jordan’s overall total of championships, winning his seventh Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020.

The one thing Jordan hates is losing. While he never directly lost to Brady considering they weren’t contemporaries or even playing the same sport. However, MJ did lose a bet to Brady that he made on a golf course in the Bahamas in 2015 where he told Brady to call him after he won 6 championships. At the time, Brady was a 4-time Super Bowl champion.

Jordan loves making bets as much as he hates losing them. While there were no stakes involved in this, Brady not only matched Jordan by winning 6 but outdid him by winning a seventh. Brady tried retiring during the NFL off-season after his Buccaneers lost in the NFL Playoffs. However, he will be playing again next season at the incredible age of 45.

Considering the paragraph of his book above talks about how Brady saw his athletic heroes fade from their sports due to age, it is magnificent to see him keep at it even if he is closer to 50 years old than 40.

There is no way to find out whether Brady confronted Jordan over this bet, but it seems like Brady may have to remind MJ of this the next time the pair meet. The pair had also played a game of basketball during this trip to the Bahamas. Many people have been given the GOAT crown to wear in sports, but Brady and Jordan are two definite pillars in that conversation and arguably the best representatives for their individual sports.
