Bradley Beal has been a scoring machine in the NBA for a while and with the Washington Wizards unable to put together a contending team around him, rumors of a possible move for Beal have existed for a while now. There isn’t a single team that wouldn’t like to add Beal to their backcourt but it seems that one franchise is more likely to land him than the others.
If he does decide to leave, then Shams Charania of The Athletic has suggested that Bradley Beal could end up going to the Miami Heat. The Heat have an excellent core with the likes of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro all a part of the team, as well as some pieces, to make the sign-and-trade that would be necessary to acquire Beal.
“However, the Heat are seen as a legitimate suitor for Beal should he elect to seek a new home, multiple sources said,” wrote Charania. “The Heat have a veteran, championship-ready core in Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry, Victor Oladipo and P.J. Tucker, as well as talented young players in Tyler Herro, Max Strus, and Caleb Martin. Miami would need to complete a sign-and-trade to acquire Beal. Overall, teams will continue to keep an eye on the Heat as a legitimate threat to add talent in the years to come.”
The Heat are currently right at the top of the Eastern Conference, but prior seasons suggest that another star would take them from contenders to possibly favorites to come out of the Eastern Conference. Beal leaving the Wizards is also far from being a certainty, he has loyalty towards the team he has spent his entire NBA career with.
If they can add Beal without giving up any of their core pieces, then it would make the Eastern Conference even more top-heavy than it already is. With Philly and Milwaukee boasting premier big men and the potential Big 3 in Brooklyn, Beal going to the Heat would make it an even more exciting conference next season.
