LeBron James is without a doubt one of the greatest players that the sport of basketball has ever seen. Some even believe that he is the best player to have ever played in the NBA.

Recently, LeBron James ended up passing Karl Malone and becoming 2nd in the all-time scoring list, only behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. There is no doubt that this is a fantastic achievement for the veteran superstar. However, the Los Angeles Lakers did not end up winning on the night of LeBron James’ historic achievement. They ended up blowing a big lead to the Washington Wizards, and many fans were upset that the Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t close it out.

After the game, LeBron James offered his thoughts on getting second place in all-time regular-season scoring. He claimed that he was “lost for words” and added that it was “an honor” for him. He did however add that what he cares about most are “wins and losses”.

“I’m always just lost for words. It’s an honor for myself, for my family and friends and my hometown,” LeBron says, in part, of passing Karl Malone for second place in regular season scoring tonight.

LeBron James says “at the end of the day all I care about are wins and losses” when asked if he could separate tonight’s history from the loss. He’s disappointed the team missed the chance to build momentum. “We just haven’t been consistent all year.”

There’s no doubt that it was a disappointing night for the Los Angeles Lakers from a team perspective. They had a great game against the Toronto Raptors recently but ended up not stepping up to the plate against the Washington Wizards, a team that many expected them to beat.

Hopefully, LeBron James is able to rally the Los Angeles Lakers roster and lead them to more wins in the future. As of now though, he should celebrate his accomplishment and rest up before focusing on the next game.
