The Los Angeles Lakers have been the biggest disappointment in the NBA this season. While there are teams who have a worse record than the Lakers this season, now of them had the kind of expectations placed on them that the Lakers did. And the Lakers have wildly underdelivered on those expectations.

But one NBA legend thinks that the Lakers could end up causing problems for teams in the NBA playoffs. During an interview he conducted with Kendrick Perkins, Kevin Garnett noted that top teams in the Western Conference don’t want to see the Lakers in the playoffs. He also added that the Lakers, especially Russell Westbrook, could redeem their season if they can just find a spot in the playoffs.

“Don’t nobody want to see Bron in no 8 or 7. Those teams, they talk that sh*t. All that sh*t go out the window. All of that was one season. You know how you can redeem yourself? The f*cking playoffs. This kid come through and have an unbelievable playoffs, everybody is gonna forget about this other sh*t. Watch. All he has to be is decent… You don’t want to be in a 7-game series with a wounded animal…”

Garnett does have a point. Earlier this season, Shaquille O’Neal had noted that people he had spoken with within the Lakers organization had told him that they were exactly where they wanted to be, and they wanted to face the top teams in the Western Conference come playoff time.

But there is no doubt that the Lakers would have liked to have a better record than the one they boast right now. The team hasn’t gelled at all, and they are nearing the end of the season. It will take nothing short of a small miracle for the Lakers to make any kind of run in the playoffs this season.
