The 2010s was truly a decade of two halves in the NBA. The first half of the decade was dominated by LeBron James and the Miami Heat, who made 4 consecutive NBA Finals. But the second half was a different story, as the rise of Stephen Curry helped the Golden State Warriors reach the NBA Finals on 5 different occasions from 2014 to 2019. But could one fan have predicted this impending superstardom in 2013?

One NBA fan took to Twitter to post an interesting picture from the 2013 NBA Finals. During Game 7 of the 2013 NBA Finals in Miami, amidst a sea of Heat fans, one fan in attendance was wearing a Golden State Warriors jersey of then-rising star Stephen Curry. This was before Curry had even made an NBA All-Star team.

NBA fans reacted to this, mostly noting that the fan was ahead of his time, mostly because Curry was about a year away from becoming an All-Star for the first time. Given how much Curry has been in the NBA Finals since the fan wore the jersey at the 2013 NBA Finals.

In the years since the 2013 NBA Finals, Curry became a perennial All-Star, became the NBA’s first and only unanimous MVP in history. And by 2015, Curry helped the Warriors win the NBA championship, a feat he would also help the Warriors achieve again in 2017 and 2018. The Warriors went to 5 consecutive NBA Finals, and Curry was a massive part of that happening.

Currently, Curry and the Warriors are trying to get back to the NBA Finals for the first time in 3 years. With Klay Thompson back in the squad, the Warriors do have a good chance to make the NBA Finals this year, as they are considered one of the favorites in the Eastern Conference.
