NBA Rumors: Tobias Harris Could Be Traded This Summer

Tobias Harris is currently the power forward for the Philadelphia 76ers. He is widely viewed as a solid player that can provide some scoring, rebounding, and shooting for the team. Currently, Tobias Harris is putting up 18.3 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 3.6 APG, while shooting 34.7% from beyond the arc.

While there’s no question that Tobias Harris is a capable player, many analysts view him as a negative asset due to his contract, as it is obvious that he is overpaid for his production. In fact, Tobias Harris was viewed as one of the worst contracts in the league going into this season.

It seems as though the Philadelphia 76ers will be trying to move off of Tobias Harris’ contract this offseason. Brian Windhorst of ESPN has recently claimed that league executives are “already speculating” about potential Tobias Harris trades they will consider this summer.

I’m asking league executives a lot about Philly, and everybody’s just seen them for a brief period of time, but they’re already speculating what Tobias Harris trades they might look at this summer,

With the emergence of Tyrese Maxey as a legitimate No. 3 option behind James Harden and Joel Embiid, it seems as though the Philadelphia 76ers have less of a need for someone like Tobias Harris. Tyrese Maxey is also on a rookie-scale deal. Moving off Tobias Harris’ contract will also give the Philadelphia 76ers more flexibility in filling out their roster and acquiring depth in the future.

However, as of now, the Philadelphia 76ers should focus on the rest of the season ahead of them. With their duo of James Harden and Joel Embiid, they have become a legitimate contender. Joel Embiid has not yet been past the 2nd round in his career, and perhaps this is the year where the Philadelphia 76ers make a deep run, and maybe even win it all.
