As has been the case throughout the entire NBA season, the Los Angeles Lakers put on yet another disappointing performance last night. The Lakers got blown out by the New Orleans Pelicans at home, as they continued their horrendous run of form. The Lakers have been very poor this year.

One person who probably found a lot of joy in the Lakers’ continued misery last night was Skip Bayless. Bayless took to Twitter to fire more shots at LeBron James. He accused LeBron of remaining in the game late despite there being no chance of coming back so that he could put up points in garbage time to eventually break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time scoring record.

LeBron James, in Year 19, has already played 36 minutes tonight but is still in the game, trailing by 22 with 5:08 left, to stat-pad with easy garbage-time buckets as he chases Kareem's all-time scoring record.

LeBron James, in Year 19, has already played 36 minutes tonight but is still in the game, trailing by 22 with 5:08 left, to stat-pad with easy garbage-time buckets as he chases Kareem’s all-time scoring record.

Just over a month ago, Bayless had accused LeBron James of turning into a ‘Westbrick’ type player in his efforts to try and chase down Kareem’s scoring title. Bayless has established this narrative and has continuously used the Lakers’ and LeBron’s failures to build on it.

He recently also took shots at LeBron James, noting that he would trust Clippers’ guard Reggie Jackson in the clutch more than LeBron James. Jackson is actually quite reliable in late-game situations. But given LeBron’s history in the league, to suggest that Jackson is more clutch than LeBron James is quite peculiar.

Bayless’ history as one of LeBron’s most consistent and over-the-top critics is, much like the name of his show, undisputed. Bayless has practically made a career out of being James’ biggest detractor. And he probably won’t stop bashing him anytime soon, because of how much success he has found doing it over the years.
