Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss Looks For The Exit Amid Ugly Lakers’ Loss

The Los Angeles Lakers make have just reached an all-time low this season.

In a performance that was lazy, inspired, and flat-out embarrassing, Lakers fans were showering their team in boos by the third quarter as their team was down 20+ points to the Pelicans.

One revealing moment came in the second half when one fan caught Jeanie Buss heading out early as her Lakers were getting smacked.

With Jeanie seeing the state of her team first-hand, it has led many fans to believe a coaching change could be on the horizon.

Some even blame Buss for her role in assembling the Lakers roster and not stepping in to block some bad decisions.

Whatever the case, it’s pretty clear that the Lakers are in no shape to compare for a title and changes are necessary for them to improve. Even talks surrounding LeBron James have been proposed in light of reports of a rift between his camp and the front office.

This has to all come as a shock to the Lakers and especially their vice president of basketball operations, Rob Pelinka, who has repeatedly yielded to James and the appropriately-named Klutch Sports Group that represents him. Why appropriate?

Because James and agent Rich Paul long grabbed hold of the Lakers organization and are now beginning to really squeeze. The situation is tense enough that one source close to the Lakers likened it to the early days of a war.

But for as important as Bryant was to the Lakers, sources inside the organization have long said that not even the legendary Black Mamba wielded as much power within the organization as James now has.

Bryant was never able to strong-arm the Lakers to make a move like the one James helped orchestrate for Westbrook, which has proven to be an outright disaster.

It remains to be seen what the future has in store for the Lakers. LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis are under contract for at least one more year.

It’ll be up to Rob Pelinka, and Jeanie Buss, to develop a plan on how to turn things around.

Needless to say, they face an uphill battle.
