Malik Monk has been enjoying an excellent spell personally even if the Los Angeles Lakers as a whole have disappointed throughout this season. Monk has provided some much-needed scoring to the team outside of LeBron James, scoring more than 20 points in 5 of the last 9 games that he has appeared on the court in. And it’s not just shots on the floor that seem to be falling for Monk at the minute, he’s doing well for himself off the court as well.

With Valentine’s Day having just passed, Monk was spotted on a romantic evening with hip hop star Iggy Azalea, enjoying a meal together at an eatery in Los Angeles. What makes this situation even more incredible is that Monk had shot his shot with Azalea 4 years ago on Instagram, and it seems to have finally worked out for him in 2022.

Azalea was last dating rapper Playboy Carti, with whom she has a son named Onyx Kelly but has previously spoken out saying that she is raising her child by herself and is not in a relationship. If she is indeed dating Malik Monk now, it wouldn’t be the first time that she has gone out with an NBA player, Azalea was famously engaged to Nick Young many years ago. That relationship ended quite horribly though, reportedly thanks to a video of Young that got leaked where he bragged about cheating on the rap star.

This is quite wild as a development for Monk though, who likely will not have expected anything to happen following his old Instagram comment on Iggy’s posts. It might just be true that good things come to those who wait, Malik Monk is certainly not going to be one to disagree with that sentiment right now. If he can bring some of this good fortune to the Lakers as well, that would be huge for them, considering that his team are still mired in the play-in spots in the Western Conference.
