There is no denying the impact Stephen Curry has had on the NBA. Curry is universally acknowledged as the greatest shooter in NBA history and has revolutionized the league, and the way many players in the NBA play. But not everyone is happy about Curry’s impact on the game.

Stephen Curry entered the NBA in 2009. Since then, he has relied on the three-point shot as his primary offensive tool. Curry’s incredible accuracy and range from the three-point line has allowed him to become one of the most dangerous scorers in NBA history, as at any moment in the game, Curry can pull up and take a shot from anywhere on the court.

Seeing his approach, many players and teams in the NBA have begun emulating him and taking many three-point shots during the course of a game. However, there aren’t many players who can shoot with the accuracy of Curry, or even come close to it, but take those shots regardless. This is why many people feel Curry has ruined basketball.

However, Stephen Curry refuses to take any of the blame for this. In a recent appearance on the ‘Knuckleheads’ podcast, Curry slammed fans and analysts who send him videos of bad shooters and saying that he is the reason they attempt those shots and that he ruined the game.

“Stop tagging me in all these horrible basketball clips with people taking bad shots, telling me I ruined the game. I did not tell you to shoot that shit…it’s also the responsibility to teach the next generation that [shooting] is possible but don’t skip this part, this part is the work.”

Curry has a valid point. Curry is an incredible shooter, and his size and skillset are befitting of that of a sharpshooter. Just because he has the range to make those shots doesn’t mean that everyone should be trying it. Recently, rapper 2 Chainz mentioned that Curry could possibly make all his shots with one eye closed.

Curry has been influential, but he hasn’t mandated anyone to take long-range shots for no reason. Players should play the game to the best of their abilities, and them taking bad shots is not Curry’s fault at all. His skill set allows him to shoot from most spots on the court, and for it to be considered a good shot.
