Over the past few years, Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has blossomed into one of the best players in basketball. As a 5x All-Star, 5x All-NBA player, 2x MVP, and 1x Champion, he has already built a resume that outshines most of his peers.

In honor of the NBA’s 75th season, The Athletic recognized Giannis by naming him as basketball’s 24th All-Time greatest player.

Speaking to the network after Saturday’s loss to Toronto, Giannis covered all kinds of topics, ranging from his placement on the list to his future in the league.

In one particular moment, the Greek Freak admitted his desire to play for 20 years and he, unsurprisingly, wants all of those years to be with the Bucks.

“No, I want to play 20 years,” Antetokounmpo said, repeating one of his goals. “Hopefully, I can play all 20 of those years with the Bucks.

“But we’ll see, I can’t predict the future, but that (pointing to the list), that’s a compliment. Being (No.) 24 and I just turned 27. That’s all my hard work that has paid off. But I gotta — we just lost — I gotta keep going. I gotta keep improving as a player. I gotta keep enjoying the game. Gotta stay in the moment, live in the moment and where it’s going to end up when I’m done with it and I’m done with the league and out of the league, who knows.

“That’s a compliment. I can take that right there and talk about it, show it to my kids.”

When he was a free agent back in 2019, many teams tried luring Antetokounmo away from Milwaukee. As a small market with a relatively unimportant history, nobody would have imagined it’d be very hard to bait him somewhere else.

Instead, Giannis re-upped with the Bucks and proved himself as an all-time great player by leading them to a title.

Even now, with the feeling of that victory waning, the Greek Freak hasn’t lost any of his love for the franchise.
