Isaiah Thomas On His Terrible Performance Against The Suns: “Greatest Players Have The Shortest Memory Whether It’s Good Or Bad”

The Los Angeles Lakers continued their struggles this season in their game against the Phoenix Suns. This was the Lakers’ third consecutive defeat after winning a few in the middle. In their 90-108 defeat, LeBron James continued his sensational form this year.

But the same cannot be said for the team’s newest signing, Isaiah Thomas. After being out of the league for a long time, IT was given a chance to play basketball by the purple and gold. He signed a 10-day contract with the Lakers and performed decently in his first two games.

Unfortunately, in the defeat against the Suns, Thomas was simply terrible. He played 26 minutes and during that time managed to register just 3 points, 1 rebound, and 3 assists. He shot an abysmal  1-of-11 from the field and turned the ball over 2 times. To make things worse, he also committed 5 personal fouls!

All things considered, it was unarguably one of the worst games of Thomas’ career in the NBA. Despite this poor performance, Isaiah is not someone who will lose hope as he tweeted about his performance later on.

“Greatest players have the shortest memory whether it’s good or bad… On 2 the nxt 1!”

While it is good to have this mentality, it is hard for someone who has barely made a comeback to the league. No offense to Thomas’ ability to play the game of basketball, just a few years ago he established himself as one of the best scorers in the league. But that is in the past. Since his breakout year with the Boston Celtics, IT’s career has gone downhill.

Many things, which were out of his control, played a role in that. At the end of the day, he is far from the player he once was and needs to play better if he wants to book a permanent spot on the Lakers’ roster.

Maybe he will bounce back in the team’s next fixture, but maybe he won’t. No one can predict that. What we can say is that fans will hope that IT makes a stunning return and at least, gets a chance to prove his worth to the league once again.
