Devin Booker has not been playing for the Phoenix Suns during their recent first-round games, as he has been nursing a hamstring injury. However, it seems as though a return could be happening soon.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN has recently revealed that Devin Booker could potentially return to the Suns during Game 6 against the New Orleans Pelicans. Wojnarowski also added that the “expectation” for his return is that he would play “limited minutes”.

Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker is progressing on a return soon, possibly for Game 6 on Thursday or a potential Game 7 on Saturday in the franchise’s Western Conference first-round playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans, sources told ESPN.

Booker has made significant progress with his strained right hamstring in recent days, and there’s momentum on a return in the coming days, sources said.

The expectation is that Booker would return in limited minutes, sources said.

The Suns are expected to list Booker as “out” on the team’s injury report on Wednesday, but that could be adjusted in the hours leading up to Thursday’s Game 6 to reflect Booker’s possible progress.

“He is progressing but there’s no change (to status),” Suns coach Monty Williams said after a light practice Wednesday in New Orleans. “Any time you have your best player out, you know that guy wants to be on the floor. If it was an elimination game type situation … I’m sure that would have an impact on it.”

It remains to be seen if Devin Booker does in fact play Game 6. The Phoenix Suns definitely have a solid amount of talent, and they could win Game 6 without his presence. They notably won Game 5 with Mikal Bridges taking on a huge scoring load.

Hopefully, we see Devin Booker return at full strength. There’s no doubt that he is a key part of what the Phoenix Suns do on the court. However, the priority is getting him healthy for the next round, and hopefully, he’s ready to go by then.
