The Golden State Warriors dynasty, which was supposed to meet its end after the 2019 NBA Finals, proved everyone wrong this season. After two very underwhelming seasons where the Dubs failed to even qualify for the playoffs, they went on to win it all.

It was a great season for the Warriors fans because not only did they win the title; they have a roster that could potentially win a couple of more rings in the near future. But if you had asked anyone if the Warriors would be the eventual 2022 NBA champions, not many would have picked their name.

Of course, they had Stephen Curry back at his best, but due to the absence of Klay Thompson for more than half the season and Draymond Green visibly declining, the Dubs didn’t look like the favorites.

Additionally, almost no one expected Andrew Wiggins to have such a great season that he became an NBA All-Star. But in a recent episode of the “Point Forward” podcast, Wiggins himself revealed that he always believed that the Warriors would win the 2022 NBA Championship.

(Starts at 13:00):

“I always believed we could win the championship. And that we started off hot and I’m like, ‘Damn, we don’t got Klay yet.’ We had the second-best record in the league and we don’t have Klay yet. When Klay comes back, it’s gonna be scary. Me, Steph, Draymond and Klay, we never played our first game together till the playoffs, first game. Man, when we started gelling it’s over!”

As Wiggins predicted, when the Warriors got Klay Thompson back, it served as a major morale booster for the team.

When the playoffs began, the Dubs never looked back. With the old trio of Steph, Klay, and Draymond back with the occasional cameos from Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins, the Warriors were unstoppable.
