Anthony Edwards was quick to respond when Charles Barkley told him that he hadn’t visited Minnesota in 20 years, telling him that he should bring himself to the city immediately.

Charles Barkley: “I have not been to Minnesota in probably 20 years.”

Anthony Edwards: “Bring ya a**.”

Anthony Edwards is without a doubt one of the wittiest players in the NBA, and his quick and abrasive response to Barkley is yet another quotable he has produced during this incredible playoff run that he and the Timberwolves have had. After Game 5, where the Timberwolves lost in Denver, he told the arena staff that he and his team would be back for Game 7.

While Edwards is hilarious off the court, on the court, there is nothing funny about what he does. Edwards has been clinical during this playoff run and came up big tonight for the Timberwolves despite a slow start to the game. Edwards scored just 4 points in the first half, but ended the game with 16 points, making some big shots and plays in the second half as the Timberwolves erased a 20-point lead.

During the series, Edwards was sensational for the Timberwolves, averaging 27.7 points, 5.7 assists, and 5.1 rebounds against the reigning NBA champions. Edwards has established himself as the leader of the Minnesota Timberwolves, and become one of the best young players in the league.

During the playoffs, Edwards has averaged 28.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.9 assists, while playing some incredible basketball on both ends of the court. His confidence and swagger have been on full display during the postseason, as he continues to take his game to another level.

Now, Edwards and the Timberwolves prepare to take on Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. It will be the first time in 20 years that the Timberwolves will take part in the Western Conference Finals, and Edwards will not want to stop there.

Is Anthony Edwards On The Verge Of Becoming The Best Player In The NBA?

Anthony Edwards has shown another side of his game this year, not just as an offensive player, but as a defensive player as well. He played great defense during the series against the Nuggets, although Jamal Murray seemed to dismiss his defensive impact after Game 6.

On top of that, his leadership has been on full display for the whole world to see. He encouraged his star teammate Karl-Anthony Towns after Game 6, saying that KAT’s ability to not foul is key to the Timberwolves winning games and the series against the Nuggets. Despite being younger than Towns, Edwards has clearly taken on the mantle of leader for Minnesota.

With the Western Conference Finals now on the horizon, Edwards will have the chance to go up against another great European star in Luka Doncic. Luka and Ant are two of the best players in the West, and getting to see them go up against each other will be a treat for basketball fans all around the world. It would not be a stretch to say that both players’ performances will determine who will advance to the 2024 NBA Finals.
