The win left fans in a frenzy as they took to Twitter to share their two cents on Team USA’s dominant performance buoyed by Mikal Bridges (24 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 assist), Tyrese Haliburton (18 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists, and Austin Reaves (12 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists).

Some fans believed the loss to Lithuania was a massive motivation.

That Team USA was semifinals bound was happy news.

Blowout was the word on the street.

A fan reminded the others about Bobby Portis’ rebounding that was key in USA’s win.

A Super Mario meme floated around too.

Some fans were happy that the team was back on track.

Some fans wanted Haliburton to start the game over Jalen Brunson.

Team USA started strong in a now-or-never game against Italy carving a 10-point lead by the end of the first quarter. Bridges was phenomenal with his 8-of-11 shooting, while Haliburton caught fire later on to hit six three-pointers coming off the bench to help the side lead by 30+ points for most of the second half.

Team USA will return to action on Friday, September 8, when it faces the winner of Wednesday’s game between Latvia and Germany.
