Boston News Network Trolls Joel Embiid After Celtics’ Win Vs. Sixers

3 Min Read

While no NBA rivalry is what it used to be, there still exists some bad blood between the Celtics and Sixers. Besides being in relatively close proximity to each other, the two teams have endured a number of battles over the years and it’s likely they’ll face some more in the near future.

On Wednesday, they met again for the first time this season and it went just like you’d expect. It was a hard-fought affair that went down to the wire. But perhaps the craziest moment of the night came after the game when a Boston news network took a savage shot at Joel Embiid and the 76ers.

It’s a hilarious and impressive troll by the network and not one that has been lost on fans.

Funnily enough, that sort of thing is actually regular for that channel, and they even did something similar to Russell Westbrook earlier in the season.

Unfortunately, the Celtics haven’t exactly found much success on the court this season. After some major struggles early on, Marcus Smart had to call his team out.

“Every team knows we’re trying to go to Jayson and Jaylen. Every team is programmed and studied to stop Jayson and Jaylen. I think everybody’s scouting report is to make those guys pass the ball. They don’t want to pass the ball. That’s something that they’re going to learn. They’re still learning.

We’re proud of the progress they’re making, but they’re going to have to make another step and find ways to not only create for themselves but create for others on this team to open up the court for them later down in the game where they’re always going to have to take those tough shots or take tough matchups when they do get the 1-on-1 or they bring the trap. It’s something we’ve been asking them to do and they’re learning. We just gotta continue to help those guys do that… There’s only so much I can do when the ball isn’t in my hands and I’m standing in the corner.”

The Celtics still have a lot of work to do before they’re in a place they want to be.

But in the meantime, it doesn’t mean the rest of the community can’t have a little fun.
