Bradley Beal Blasts Wizards For Blowing 35 Point Lead To Clippers: “Embarrassing… I Have No Words Besides Embarrassing.”

When a basketball team has a huge 35 point lead, one would expect them to end up winning that game. However, that was not the case tonight.

The Washington Wizards blew a 35 point lead to the Los Angeles Clippers today, after getting outscored 80-49 in the 2nd half of the game. There is no doubt that this is an extremely disappointing loss for the Wizards.

Bradley Beal was clearly distraught after losing the game in this fashion. Beal claimed that this loss was “embarrassing”, and added that “there’s no other way to put it”.

"It's embarrassing. There's no other way to put it… I literally was sitting for the last 10-15 minutes. I have no words besides embarrassing and… I don't know."

It’s embarrassing. There’s no other way to put it… I literally was sitting for the last 10-15 minutes. I have no words besides embarrassing and… I don’t know.

The Washington Wizards will definitely have to learn from this loss going forwards. Closing games is important, and anything can happen. No lead is ever truly safe, and the Washington Wizards have learned that the hard way today.

Hopefully, we see the Wizards bounce back from this awful game and start winning in the coming weeks. They came back to earth after an extremely hot start, and are currently 23-25 and the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. They desperately need to go on a winning run, but even then, it’s an uphill climb for them to avoid the play-in tournament.

Bradley Beal has stated that he wants to build his own legacy with the team that drafted him, which obviously is the Washington Wizards. He has played some good individual ball, but there is no question that he needs some help to build that legacy he wants. The Wizards were reportedly the favorites to land Pistons forward Jerami Grant though, so perhaps we’ll see that trade happen. Regardless of whether a trade happens though, the Wizards need to start winning more games.
