Bradley Beal’s hard-hitting message to his AAU team will surely go down as one of the most motivational speeches ever.

In a two-year-old interview that cropped up on Twitter, the now Phoenix Suns guard had a strong message for his AAU side that wanted to play in the NBA, and while outlining the grim reality of how it would be, he also ensured he gave them the motivational spark they needed.

“I don’t ever like pulling my NBA card, ever,” Beal said. “But bro, it’s only 400 [NBA jobs]. That means if you get a chance to get into the league, you gotta f*****g play me. You gotta f*****g guard me. And guess what? Can’t none of y’all f*****g guard me.”

On a side note, it’s worth noting that the huddle had a familiar name in Moses Moody, who was selected with the 14th pick in the 2021 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors.

Bradley’s words couldn’t be more true. Getting into the NBA is no mean feat. Statistically, as of 2016, there were 75,000–150,000 professional basketball players in the world. Half of them played as semi-professionals, while the other 450 million are amateurs.

Fast forward to the present, and estimate that number to be 200,000 players, only 450 of them can play in the NBA, with 30 teams having 15 spots on their roster. This narrows down the probability to 0.00225%, making it practically impossible to make the NBA irrespective of talent and skill.

The message is simple: Dreaming to play and the harsh reality is two different things. With chances of even the best prospects looking slim, one needs a certain level of discipline and commitment to make it to the highest level and that was Beal’s message.

Bradley Beal Has Business To Take Care Of

One of the bigger off-season trades was Bradley Beal coming to the West to play for the Phoenix Suns alongside Devin Booker and Kevin Durant.

With the former Washington guard yet to win his maiden ring, he will be teaming up with a side that has been perennial title contenders.

Suns team owner Mat Ishbia isn’t playing any games with his team. Since day one, he’s been all-in on building a championship superteam. Hopefully, Beal is the answer they’ve been looking for.
