Brandon Ingram And Jose Alvarado Take A Shot At Lakers On Instagram: “They Didn’t Believe In Us… Pelicans Did.”

3 Min Read

The New Orleans Pelicans are ready to face another NBA season after exceeding expectations last campaign, making it to the 2022 playoffs after two wins over the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers, respectively. Led by Brandon Ingram, CJ McCollum, and more players, the Pels made some noise in the Western Conference.

Next season appears to be more exciting for them, as Zion Williamson will make his long-awaited comeback, and most of their core will be there to run it back. Meanwhile, Ingram and one of the players that surprised everybody last season, Jose Alvarado, decided to send a couple of messages on social media, trashing their former team.

Both Ingram and Alvarado had links with the Los Angeles Lakers, but the team quickly let them go. First, BI was dealt to New Orleans in the blockbuster trade that sent Anthony Davis to LA, while Alvarado worked out with the team and reportedly received good comments, but the Purple and Gold ended up signing Austin Reeves to their team.

The Puerto Rican player shared an Instagram post with a cryptic message that drew some attention around the league.

“They said I… Nevermind they changed their mind ”

Ingram reacted to that, sending another message that sounded a lot like a shot at the Los Angeles Lakers.

“They didn’t believe in us… Pelicans did ❤️‍ “, Ingram commented.

The Pelicans have a bright future ahead. It’s still early to say that they will be a championship team in the next couple of years, but having Zion Williamson on their roster is definitely a big advantage. The former Duke player is keen to prove his value in the league, and perhaps after a couple of seasons, we could be talking about him as one of the best players in the association.

For now, they’ll try to compete to become a recurrent team in the playoffs. Whatever happens after that will depend on their moves and if they can keep their core together.
