You can’t be great at everything in life, and Michael Jordan is a great example of that. Jordan is widely regarded as the greatest basketball player of all time, but just because you are great at playing basketball, it doesn’t mean you’re good at running the whole operation.

If his playing career was full of stunning highs, his tenure as owner of the Charlotte franchise has been full of crushing lows. The Hornets/Bobcats haven’t won a single playoff series since Jordan took over, and they aren’t going to be winning one anytime soon. At this point, it is more than fair to say that Jordan is one of the worst owners in the NBA purely in terms of team success and when Ben Stinar said that MJ has gotten a pass for being one of the worst owners in sports, Brandon Jennings had an interesting response.

“Once Bron get to that Vegas Team and ownership hmmmm”

Jennings seems to think that LeBron James won’t be great at it either, and it is really rare to see great players transition well to decision-making roles in the NBA. A lot of them don’t have much success as head coaches or general managers, with Jerry West and Larry Bird being some of the exceptions. With all the jokes about LeGM, though, we think LeBron would probably do a better job than what MJ has done so far.

LeBron James’ Pathway To Becoming A Team Owner

LeBron has wanted to own an NBA Team for quite a while now, and he mapped out the process fairly well. LeBron has been connected with Fenway Sports Group since 2011, and last year, he became a partner at FSG.

With the NBA set to expand at some point in the future, LeBron and FSG have their sights set on owning a team in Las Vegas, which has been rumored to be an expansion destination. Bill Simmons predicted that they would get it, too , and he was basically on the money when it came to predicting how much the Phoenix Suns would be sold for and who could be the buyer.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
