Brian Windhorst Says Many Teams Have Interest In Ben Simmons: “If He Was Available On The Market Today… Maybe Up To A Dozen Teams Would Make Offers.”

2 Min Read

There is no question that the 76ers have been eliminated in a disappointing fashion from the 2021 NBA playoffs. The 5th seeded Hawks upset them in a 7 game series. The 76ers had an opportunity to win Game 7 at home, but they couldn’t deliver in the 4th quarter and close out the game.

Many have placed the blame on the 76ers performance in Game 7 on Ben Simmons, the team’s three-time All-Star. People have pointed to one specific possession where the point guard passed up an open layup and highlighted his lack of aggressiveness overall. However Ben Simmons is still a three-time All-Star, and Brian Windhorst revealed that executives and teams around the league would be interested in acquiring him.

It is clear that Ben Simmons is still a talented player, who had a bad playoff run. He was a top 3 DPOY candidate in the regular season, and he is still an elite playmaker to boot. Perhaps all he needs is a new place where he can have a fresh start. It remains to be seen whether he remains in Philadelphia or not, but if he were to be put up for trade the 76ers would receive a lot of offers.
