Bryce James is still a few years out from joining his brother in the NBA, but he’s got the chance to watch them make history together. After Bronny was officially taken with the 55th pick this summer, Bryce had some words on watching his family be united together on the court.

“It’s a great feeling knowing my brother, the journey he’s had,” wrote Sam Lance of Kansas University. “He’s come far from the cardiac arrest, all the difficulties that he’s had in his career, college. It’s amazing. I’m ready for them lobs, to be honest.”

LeBron James has three children, Bronny, Bryce, and Zhuri. As the oldest of the bunch, Bronny is already in the NBA and is teammates with his dad on the Lakers. After a freshman season at USC, where he averaged 4.8 points per game, his dreams of playing with the King have finally become a reality and Bryce could soon follow suit.

The 17-year-old baller is also a basketball star and he has goals of making it to the league just like his older brother. As a junior at Sierra Canyon High School, scouts are already watching this kid, and some people project he could end up being better than Bronny. Of course, his dad may not stick around to help him find out.

For now, however, Bryce is still just an observer and he can only watch from the sidelines as his family makes history.

After being signed to the Lakers, Bronny and LeBron are officially the first father-son duo in NBA history and this upcoming season will be uncharted territory for everyone involved. Initially, Bronny will likely spend some time in the G-League to help develop his skills and prepare his mind but he is sure to see some time on the court this season and LeBron James will no doubt be looking to set him up with some sweet assists.

At just 6’2″, James may not be the highest flier but he can certainly rise well enough to catch lobs and do his best LeBron impression. If he can also hit some threes and handle the ball as the point guard off the bench, it will provide a major boost for the Lakers and it will be all the validation that Bronny needs for his NBA roster spot.

While the chemistry will no doubt be top-notch between LeBron and Bronny, it could take some time before their potential together is realized. In the meantime, Bronny will be working overtime to improve his game one set at a time.

Bryce is still a few years out from a chance to join the NBA, but if Bronny can get in, then Bryce might have an easier time making the cut given that he’s projected to be even better as a pro.  But with no way to know for certain, all we can do is watch LeBron and Bronny on the court together and it seems we already know what to expect.
