Carmelo Anthony On Zion Williamson: “He Isn’t Comparable To Anybody That I’ve Seen”

1 Min Read

Portland Trail Blazers’ star Carmelo Anthony was in awe after Zion Williamson’s demonstration on Tuesday. Williamson led the Pelicans past the Blazers, 138-117, scoring 31 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

“I don’t really think he’s comparable to anybody that I’ve seen,” Anthony said after the game, per Rod Walker of NOLA.com. “Somebody as powerful as that who jumps like that. And you can tell he’s getting better, his feel for the game is getting better.”

Although fans had to wait a little longer than initially thought, they can’t be happier than Zion took his time to make his NBA debut. He’s been absolutely great for the Pels, averaging 21.0 points and 7.7 rebounds while hitting 57.6 percent of his shots.

If people had big expectations on him, Zion is already exceeding them.

Carmelo has been around for a while and has played against a lot of talented players. He must know a thing or two about good players. He, claiming Zion can’t be compared with a modern star, says a lot about the latter’s quality.
